I have a dobleday crime club 1945 copy of death of a swagman that came from the library of NBC television head Pat Weaver ( sigourney weavers father).Obviously plenty of americans as well as Orson Welles appreciated Upfields bony books. I suspect however there were plenty of Australians who looked forward to the next bony book by Upfield.
